WOW!!! You're right, all those threads on era/period 20s/30s music are gone!!!!! Damn!!!!

I have a Bluetooth but....get a good one with some power or you won't hear the music or the quality. I have a JBL Charge 3, da best....in my 'expert' opinion....and you can hide it with any kind of imagination.

See that's exactly what I used to do even had it vetcrod down but after a few pot holes it end up bowmcing all over the cab being a compleat destraction. That's why I'm thinking about taking an old steering colum bracket and making some sort of control head with blue tooth built in but also with volume knob and song change knob that way the music can come from my phone but then be controlled with phone left in pocket. Never need to worried about looking down never need to worrie about dead batteries or bow cing things. Any thoughts?

X2

I wouldn't be cutting or drilling for anything added. There are ways to set or fasten small speakers under the gas tank, under the seat, on the rear shelf, etc.

I Velcro'd my JBL to the seat frame board, center at floor level, never had a problem yet. I did make a old time box to sit on the package rack for it to fit in but, fast stops would have sent it flying FWD.

I try to avoid potholes.....

On tours, we use a device like this sitting on the package tray. Completely wireless. Picks up a signal from your phone from 60 feet away. Has a battery that lasts 24 hours and is loud. You connect your smart phone to it. Use FREE Pandora to select a station like 1930s music and away you go. Then hide it in the rumble seat when you get to your destination, or better yet, bring it inside with you and keep using it for music around the house or at the hotel.

This one is on sale at amazon right now for $36.00. It has 6,200 reviews saying it's great. Comes in Blue and Red also.

Here are a bunch of other selections.

When we did our Town Sedan, we used speakers in the front cowl section and hid them with "map pockets" and snaps; that way it creates the appearance of being relatively "period correct", but also allows for a more permanent sound base as well. The controls and amp are hidden under the front seat, but we also ran a charging cable and I-Pod connector up between the cushions on the front seat. The addition of a "splitter" also allows for additional "auxiliary" speakers to be run into the back seat area - again, not a permanent speaker set-up, but mobile as has been discussed above. The sedan is used mostly during the Winter months, so with the windows rolled up, its not difficult to get some nice music to come through - sort of a "surround sound" when auxiliary back speaker(s) are used. During the warmer months, an I-Pod and a portable speaker work fine in the roadster and phaeton - with open cars, I don't think that a more permanent speaker mounting would produce any significant benefit over a more portable speaker set-up. Good luck to you regardless of whatever route you choose.

Dick

Also use the JBL and switch it from car to car. When the kids come along I let them
use their music for as long as I can stand it......
