Default Ford carb dashpot,

I have a 1954 Ford Crestline with a 239 & Ford EBU carb, I looked in my service manual supplement & no where can I find how to adjust the right-side carb dashpot. I found the adjustment for the earlier models where there is 60/90 thousands gap at idle, but nothing for the 54 EBU carb.
Any ideas??

Thank You

I would think .060-.090" gap would not do anything. are you sure it isn't compress the dashpot plunger 30-90 at idle?

Arrow Re: Ford carb dashpot,

The adjustment procedure is discussed on PG 80, - 2. LINKAGE ADJ - a. IDLE ADJ

It is included in the LINKAGE ADJ in the TRANS SECT as the linkage has to be adjusted for proper TRANS OPERATION.

Proper idle adj is established first without the dash-pot engaged and once proper idle is achieved, the dash-pot adj as not to interfere with basic curb idle RPM.

Correct.

Proper curb idle is achieved first, then dash-pot and then TV LINKAGE.

ILL incl below. It shows a FORD 4100 but the principle is the same -

On page 80 of my Jan 54 supplement, it discusses power steering.
