Start with Fordbarn.
Post plenty of photos.
Give details and history.
Provide an honest description including info. you would want to know if you were a buyer.
Set a realistic price.
Also, if there is an AACA Club near you, you might contact them.
Don't let anyone take your car for a road test unless you are sitting in the seat next to them.
Don't sell to anyone who wants an Open Title.

May God Bless your wife and give you strength.
Also, if there is an AACA Club near you, you might contact them.

To find a realistic price is kind of hard to find by looking at what is for sale a lot seems are overpriced. I think. My object is to sell the car and car related for it to go with it. As normal people give you things and you pick things up as time goes on.

Bill: Start doing your homework here. Keep in mind cars of the 50's are NOT bringing the big money of several years ago as the market is changing. Check the dates of these adds and prices asked. Dealers always inflate the price.

i see all the high prices too. it boils down to this..do you want to sell it, or do you want to play around for two years.

Good point as prices do not seem to be on the upswing. Post photos of your car, please.

Minor correction. The text on the V8 site says "The Early Ford V-8 Club does not require membership in the Club to advertise." This would be a good place to advertise, https://www.earlyfordv8.org/classifi...&c=Automobiles

I believe advertising in the club's magazine used to require membership but reading the current issue of the magazine looks like you just send money. See attached photo.

Sorry about your loss.

The few times I used Hemmings to try to sell something I didn't have much luck. But it does expose your car to a large number of potential buyers. A bit of a lead time between submitting your ad and it being published. Don't know about the cost anymore but IMO pay the extra to include a photo.

Hemmings has always been the go-to. They generally list auction and dealer cars, as well as private sellers. I found both of my EV8 vehicles there.

Also send an ad to the local EFV8 club chapters and ask them to include it in their newsletter. I think you have several of them in your nearby area. See: https://www.earlyfordv8.org/Regional_Club_Directory.cfm

Sorry for your loss.

The next generation of buyers isn't looking much beyond Facebook. List it on your local Facebook Marketplace. Join one of the Ford groups on Facebook and also list it there.

I sell all of my cars on ebay. You can go to advanced search and find actual selling numbers....... if you are realistic, it will sell. Start with a low bid and put a reserve on it if you are worried about giving it away.
total cost is only 125. Huge audience whereas Ford Barn and Hemmings are limited.

Sorry for your loss!

I have had good success with ebay. First I listed on the "free" sites such as here on the 'Barn, Early Ford V-8 Club site, and club newsletters. I sold a 2004 Corvette last May and a 1932 Ford Roadster last September on Ebay ( $125.00 sales commission each).

Good luck!
Pat

Hemmings on-line is always my first choice. Folks in the "buying age" group don't read magazines much anymore.
I'd found the Fordbarn to be mostly guys looking to "steal' stuff. The Ford Club magazine? Think about the average age of the membership. Those guys are not typically buying anymore.
Ebay is okay IF the car is priced correctly. If it doesn't sell, many guys that may have been interested will peg the value at what was the high bid received.
I've found a high percentage of cars advertised for sale in magazines to be way over priced. No doubt because the typical guy reading it (and advertising there) is fairly aged and hasn't kept up with the market.
I stay away from auctions as I've had too much inside experience to know just how crooked they can be and how often they are. Just doesn't rest well with me...

Sorry for your loss, my prayers are with you.

I have had great experience using WeBeAutos.com
They handle all the advertising, qualifying buyers, paperwork for the sale, transferring of funds and only charge 5% if THEY sell the car. Michael Runnels is great to work with give him a call at (631)339-0399

Worth looking in to. Both of the vehicles I sold through them were smooth, guaranteed sales.

Ebay & Facebook seem to be working best for the guys I have been talking to recently .
However , I would start right here on the ole 'Barn since it is free !
