Is it true that Ford used the Kaiser Frazer letter "F" in it's design of the 1949-50 Crestliner steering wheel horn button logo?

Darrins below! Some "Frazers", depending on year, had a different "K" above the company's Bison logo, while the later ones had a gorgeous "Starburst K".....below! I even found a couple more oddities for earlier years. Not ALL Kaiser wheels were white. DD ![]() ![]() .........

I've heard that too, probably only on this board. I've never seen a Kaiser/Fraiser use that F logo.

Logos were probably trademarked, so they could not be used by anyone else.

Jim's (19Fordy) Crestliner-type wheel is the only place that I have ever seen the "F" in that font. DD

I have heard this story for a long time (probably at least 30 years ago for the first time). Ever since then, whenever I see a Frazer, I check the steering wheel. I have never seen a wheel like this on a Frazer.

.
Actually, there MAY be a little confusion as to just what a "Kaiser-Frazer" was. Henry J. Kaiser and Joseph M. Frazer began building both Kaisers and Frazers in 1947. They appeared to be very similar in appearance to each other. But Kaisers were FRONT-wheel drive, whereas Frazers were REAR-wheel drive. Only 10,000 Frazers were produced in '51 before Joe Frazer went on down the road to bigger and better things. The company then became The Kaiser Motor Corp. and produced Kaisers through the '55 model year. As an aside, a little over 400 Kaiser Darrins were produced, becoming America's FIRST fiberglass sports car, preceding Corvette production by about a month in 1953. Yeah. Initially, Kaisers were supposed to be front wheel drive; that never happened.
