Default '32 Ford woody

I am looking for rear fenders for a '32 woody station wagon. I realize these things are difficult to find, so I'm also wondering what other fenders might be made to work, if I can't find the real thing. How do truck fenders compare? Any advice or personal experience is greatly appreciated.

'32 106" wheelbase panel delivery rear fenders are the same. Pickup fenders attach horizontally whereas station wagon/panel delivery fenders attach mostly vertically. Anything but the real deal will require substantial modification. Likely the best starting point would be a pair of the excellent reproduction pickup rear fenders made by United Pacific. The photos below are of three different varieties of '32 NOS rear fenders. The first three are of a station wagon/panel delivery fender. The next three are of a pickup rear fender and the last two are of sedan rear fenders (the one with the extra hole in the rear view is uniquely for the convertible sedan).

All of these photos are from the Early Ford V8 Club's book, "The 1932 Ford, A Production Chronicle and Restoration Guide", which if you are restoring a station wagon you'll find the two volume set to a valuable source of information for your project. The book is available at the online store on the Club's website.

Thanks so much. I just ordered the books. I'm guessing you're not aware of any correct fenders for sale?

As Davis suggests, probably the easiest way to go would be the reproduction fenders from United Pacific and a good metal man to modify them. With a production run of 1032 four cylinder cars and only 351 with the new V-8, finding a set of rear fenders would be extremely hard and costly. If gscov has one, half of your problem is solved and you can use it to copy the modifications done to the reproduction fender.
