Default Frame Up Restoration

No, its not mine. I'm just amazed at what "restoration" means to some people.

Enjoy.

He did it his way. A purist does it a different way. The important thing is, there is another Model A preserved because of what he calls a restoration.

paint is kinda funky but glad the car got restored kinda close to factory instead of cutup and hotrodded/ratrodded.

Hmmmm, he did what his way? Sure doesn't look like it was a "restoration" to me. Here is how Webster defines the word 'Restoration'.

res·to·ra·tion
ˌrestəˈrāSH(ə)n/
noun
noun: restoration
  1. 1.
the action of returning something to a former owner, place, or condition.

Please help me understand how this car was returned to a former condition. I feel the more politically correct term for this is it had a "Frame-up Renovation".

It's got pizazz, especially after looking at the "before" pics.

1.) Looked like a pretty decent Roadster to start with.

2.) Chassis work was presentable. Looking good so far.

3.) After that, he fumbled on the goal line. Big time. Had the ball, going for broke, then lost it And asking 20 Grand?

This car correctly restored as a Standard Roadster would have been a beautiful Model A Ford. Yeah, yeah as they say 'to each his own' BUT if I 'owned' this 'thing' put me in the Betty Ford Clinic ASAP

NOS, original and restored are probably the most 3 mis-used words in the old car and old motorcycle hobby.

The Color and the upholstry are obviously correct in this restoration. However, I think that the air in the left rear tire may be 'after-market', which may put out of 'Fine Point' judging.

No doubt it would be a fun car to own and drive, and you've got to admire the guy for finishing the car. In a lot of ways its more correct than my old jalopys and I have a ball with them...its just not what I expect to see when I read "restoration".

So the guy was into Auburns, Cords, Packards, Chryslers of the 30's. I've seen that colour scheme on all of those cars. So He put it one His Model A. One thing about paint, it can be sanded and recoated. I hope he had fun while he owned it.

Had a 36 Ford once. I was at a car cruise and an old timer came over to check it out. He looked at the side with the hood down and complemented me on how good the car looks. Then, he walked around to the other side with the hood open and he screamed "ahhh you ruined it you put an alternator on it". Can't please everybody. Your car, your money, your taste, your time, do it your way.
