42 1 1/2 tonne- restoration
Hi All,
Thought I would start a post to keep posting slow progress on the truck. Gearbox is back together and now waiting for a clutch plate. Quick question, What did the old trucks have on the handbrake handle as a covering? Leather wrap? Cheers Corey Sent from my SM-G977B using Tapatalk |

Nice work. I’ll defer to the guys having trucks of your era, but on my 51/52s the only covering was paint. Stu

Re: 42 1 1/2 tonne- restoration
I'm fairly confident Ford painted handles in trucks through 1947 (I could only speculate on younger trucks).
And I'm jealous of your far-less-complex hand brake assembly compared to my COE (the handle mounts in the cab on the left side of the trans and has long rods connected to bell cranks to connect to the brake assembly in the same spot as yours on the right)! |

Had my cab blasted and epoxy primed, so now I can start some metal work on it with a good canvas. Sent from my SM-G977B using Tapatalk |

wish my 41 3/4 ton stake bed cab was that good when I started, cab had been walked all over on the roof and the rear cab mount was broken off

HI all,
Just a few pics of what I've been up to , made up a couple of sections to repair the front quarter. Also repairing the back of the cab. Cheers Corey Sent from my SM-G977B using Tapatalk |
