What is a pick up bed rack? Do you mean a canopy top or side boards or something else?

A pretty simple venture on your own without plans. If you can't figure it out, take it to a woodwork shop! Wayne

when looking for an A truck, first 3 or 4 were 30,31's. when I first seen mine,i rejected it because of high cab.went back a month later at my wife's suggestion& input.made an offer $1800.00 less than he wanted,he took it.made up a 3 board side rack to haul 5 bales of hay once a month. the boards made all the difference to me on height problem. tom

Here are my sideboards. I plan to add a top to enclose them so that my dogs can ride in back when necessary. Some J-bolts will keep it secured when I make it. The covered top will keep the dogs shaded and out of the weather a bit more while keeping them contained as I drive. Just not enough room to put all four dogs up front in the passenger seat.

Not sure if your addressing side boards or a raised cover, but this was how mine were done on my "new to me" 1930 82-B cc pickup. Hope they help with some ideas for you.

The canopy I built draws a lot of attention. I saved every photo I could find, either new or old, and came up with a design I liked. Whether you want a rack, side rails or a canopy, they're all easy to build as long as you have minimal woodworking skills.
