Default Water outlets

When using the copper inlet and outlet gaskets do you need to use any sealant or permatex with the gaskets

I usually don't use gasket sealer but sealer wouldn't hurt as long as it is used sparingly .

I use just sealer, no gasket and torque only to 45 ft. #.

I like to use a thin coat of Indian Head shellac.
