uneven idle
Hi Guys,I've just put a kit into my holley 94 on my 37 pickup and it is running good other than the idle.It idles ok but picks up speed then hunts a little and drops back.It changes about 2-3 hundred revs.Vacum guage remains steady troughout.I must point out it was doing this before the carb rebuild.I'm running a mallory electronic dissy if this helps. As always I await the collective genius of all you experts to sort out this problem. Thanks in advance Tony.

Re: uneven idle
First thing to do is take a compression test with all plugs out and throttle glued to the floor. Make sure compression is all even. May have a bad valve. Walt

Re: uneven idle
For another thing its the wrong carb should be a 97 strom/ If your alum. intake is a 35-37 with a hole in the crossover passage between the 2 rear studs, you must block off this hole some how.Look at the diff in the gaskets for a 97 + 94 and im not talking about the shape of them. See the small hole between the rear stud holes. Thats NOT there on a strom gasket. Leads directly to the power valve chamber. Block it off. Why, figure it out. ken ct. Though it should run right if using the right gasket. May have nothing to do with your problem. [with either carb]
