I have a 1951 Ford with O.D. What size Gear should I use?

The speedometer gear should match the rear end gears. OD or not has no effect on the speedometer, as the gear is after the OD. What rear end ratio do you have?

I am planning on putting an OD in my '51. I will use the speedometer gear from the standard transmission in the OD transmission. I will change the speedometer gear if I feel the need to change the rear end ratio.

just use your existing spedo gear. only time you would change spedo gears is if you changer differential ratio....
