Who makes the most accurate Reproduction Deuce Shell and Grill?

I would say the best repo shell would be from Brookville. The grille baskets from Vintique look good and seem to fit well into the shells.

Do you want one that accepts the stock bezel?

The drawback to the Brookville shell is for one you can't use the rear stainless trim if you want to and their shell designed for the original bezel and cap is kind of hooky. I've been using the Vintique shell with Dales inserts as I have horded a few. On future builds I will use the Vintique shell with a United Pacific insert.

Have you found that the quality of the Vintique shells vary? The original run were spot on, albeit a bit thinner gauge than OEM.

Recent ones seem to be off. Someone said the die to tired and they don't replace them frequently enough.

Bought a Vintique shell from Honest Charlie & Carlisle a few years ago. It was greT in every way except the shell was set for a stick radiator opening at the top and for some reason the holes for the surround and attachment to the radiator on top were just a bit off. I still have trouble with it when I remove my radiator for some reason. It’s a battle to get it back on where I am happy with it. But, the look I think is the most stock looking of the repops I have seen out there.

At the rate so many of the repop suppliers are closing their doors, we may have to be happy with anything we can get pretty soon .....

Having just bought a Vintique "original" shell, with radiator cap and bezel, and stainless trim pcs. I've found the same issue as Tom T, in that the holes for the bezel are just a "little" off to center and the curve is off for the stainless trim. The curve is too open and wants to buckle when you tighten it to the shell. I'm going to try and take a couple of bites with a shrinker/stretcher and see if that'll pull it in. The radiator cap bezel, I think, will have to have the holes re-drilled. And, I haven't even started to fit the insert (a Dales) to the grill shell.

This wasn't always the case. The early run of these were spot on. I really think their dies are tired and need to be replaced.
