1940 Ford Coup-- "B" Pillar measurement--Help.
Okay guys,, I have a 40 Coupe, here in Australia,, under- going whole new floors and "B" Pillar repairs. Some so-called professionals got their hands at it, and destroyed any true reference points for the repairs. As you can see by the pics (first 3) of their repairs,, its just beyond imagination.
Hopefully a fellow Fordbarner has a unmolested, and bare bodied 40 coupe to help me out here. What I am needing,, is a measurement of the inner frame of the "B" Pillar area. I have include some pics (remaining 4) of the reference points on the inner "B" Pillar, specific to the area to be measured. I would appreciate if a tailors measuring tape could be run along the inner curve of the "B" Pillar from the corner of the pillar as it touches the floor sill area up to the lower horizontal edge of the rectangular hole near the female stricker area. My tape shows about 17 inches, from the lower corner to the holes' lower edge. Appreciate any help,, thanks in advance. oz40 (Tom) |

I have a pristine 40 V8 (std) Business coupe and it measures 17 1/4 exactly on both sides to the bottom of the hole you are using for measurement. My car is apart for paint and nothing is in the way, I used a steel tape.
