Default Sun tester question.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Does anyone have a Sun master motor tester circa '55 that looks like this?

I need to know what type of batteries fit in the second module from the left.

I know that one is your average "D" cell battery.

The other, however, is not. It's a slightly smaller diameter, but not as small as a "C" battery. It is also much "shorter" maybe a third the size of a "D".

Does anyone have a machine as a reference or a manual?

Thanks!!!

I bought a cd copy for my 620 generator test bench on ebay and it came with some other ones, the motor tester (800-900)is newer, but there is a dist machine that the dwell unit uses batterys and looks about the same, it looks to use 2 flashlight batterys(D cells), perhaps there is a part of an old battery stuck in there

I've actaully been to Masters several years ago as I lived not far from him in Ohio at one point. It had been awhile and wasn't sure of his status.

The oddball battery that you can't get anymore is 1.35 volts. I have a small board with a adjustable pot that takes the 6v from the power supply and drops it to 1.35.

Awesome. This is exactly the info I was hoping to get. Thank you!

Do you recall where you got the board that does the step down?
