Default 1938 PU Seat and back rest dimensions

Have a 38 PU which has had the seats and back rest redone, foam was used.Sadly it appears the work was not to correct thickness dimensions and now clearance from back rest to steering wheel and seat cushion to steering wheel is minimal.

Could someone please provide the clearance dimensions for the seat cushion and back rest. As I will need to have the ones fitted "thinned down" to give correct clearance for comfortable seating behind wheel.

dimensions of back rest thickness and if tapered from seat cushion to top of back rest etc would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for advice and assistance

Can't help you directly, but should be fairly consistent from model to model. These dimensions are determined by human body dimensions, not at particular Ford model year or style. There should not be a drastic difference between models. If the 34 avatar is yours, it should be similar for a given seat height and if the seat heights are different you should be able to scale it. I know this wasn't what you were looking for, but might give you something to work with until a 38 owner chimes in.

I could probably do it tonight or tomorrow sometime. Mine has been re-upholstered but no clearance issues and they are comfy.

Thanks for supplied information. Yea my measurement is 13.25 inches from backrest to steering wheel and 6.5 inches from seat cushion to steering wheel.
So backrest as suspected needs to be thinned down to give about 14.5. then should be good.
Much appreciated
