35-37 ford pickup question

i have many 35-37 ford pickup cabs, some of the dashes have 2 gauges no box some have 2 gauges with a glove box some have 3 gauages with and without glove boxes and some are different than those two how can i verify what years they are ? i know they are 35-37 simular yet all are differntnt

One way to tell a 35 from a 36 is the base of the W/S is a crease or sharp corner at the base of the W/S in 35 and a sweep or curve where the W/S meets the cowl from whatI have been told and also have observed on many Cabs. JM2CW. kerk

Based upon just looking at the gauge setup, the 35 and 36 have three holes for the instruments, a large one in the center for the speedometer and a smaller one on each side of the speedometer for the other gauges. The 37 pickup has two equal size dash holes, one for the speedometer and another for the instruments which went to a cluster in 37. I have not personally seen a 35-37 half ton with no glove box nor have I personally seen a 35-37 1 1/2 ton with no glovebox although I have seen quite a few with the glovebox door missing. The 35 and 36 cabs have one piece windshields. The 37 has a two piece windshield but if it is missing, the two hole dash is a quick giveaway. To tell a 35 from a 36 cab, the quick way is as Kerk posted. The bottom of the windshield post on the 35 is flat where it joins the cowl and the 36 curves at the bottom where it joins the cowl. There are other differences between the three years of cabs but the major differences in the windshield glass and posts along with the number of dash holes make for pretty quick and easy identification.

I think the 35 had removeable trim on the inside of doors and 36 and 37 had the trim as a connected part. Early had rubber bumpers at door glass, later had felt sweeps. Some had two metal reinforcements in the top, others only one.

Only some of the early '35 pickup (Model 50) and big truck (model 51) have garnish molding for the side windows. The first run of cabs were made by Budd. After the first batch, Ford deleted this part of the design so most '35 pickup and big truck cabs do not have this feature. Also, none of the 1936 model year did either.

Also, I agree with oldandtired's summary of the primary differences in the cabs. Also, don't be fooled by added holes in the dash made by dealers and others for ash trays, radios and hot air heaters. An instrument hole will be smooth with mounting studs on the back side for the instruments while holes cut in the dash will be just that, a cut-in hole.

Here are some photos that should help differentiate 35 thru 37 cabs.
The creased cowl was an early 35 style(thru May 1935) The smooth cowl with flat windshield was a May 1935 thru 1936 design. The smooth cowl and 2 piece windshield was a 37 design.
There were 4 styles of doors from 35 to 37. They are shown in attached photos.
