Smile Does anyone know what.....

does any one really know what that little hook in the center of the package tray on the roadsters is used for?? here's my take. I was taking a ride in my 31 roadster , the top down , the windshield folded down and the top boot in place. next thing I knew the top boot was picking up , caught by the wind.so I fabricated another slot in the center of the boot [ inboard ] copied the same as used for the footman loop with the leather tie downs. the slot fits perfect over the hook and walla no more blowing in the wind. any other thoughts out there?? thanks THE HOOCH

I don't have a roadster, do you have some pictures to show us what you are referring to.
