Default 59 Block identification

have 59L block which I understand is from truck or bus. How about a 59Z block, what is that from ? Anyone heard of them before ? Thanks Fordbarners.

According to Rumbleseat, the 59Z is a hard military block. "the block of choice" and will almost certainly take a 3 7/16 bore. very hard on cutting gear. Find his stuff on line and have a read. www.flatheadv8.org...

The Z block is a post war replacement for the earlier 85 hp engines. The one that I have came out of a 1939 farm truck in Oklahoma. Good blocks. Ed
