Sorry late to answer but, I just read your inquiry regarding my Russian B nos block.
Many decades ago, a guy who was (half ownership) owner of Antique Ford in Los Angeles area, imported a container full of nos Russian B engines. Over time, these engines were dis-pursed throughout SoCal. In about 1999, I looked at one such Russian B at a 'rebuilder' shop in Turlock. The owner had obtained it for his Tudor restore project....'someday' . He wanted to rebuild a warmed up B engine for me and we settled on the block from this engine as starting piece. Being a neophyte , I only kept the block ! This B has run flawlessly in my A since then. Of course , it should as all of best material/labor was used to warm it up.
BTW...you mention 'availability' of this nos block nowadays. Just last week, I visited a guy who had just sold a nos Russian block that he had stored away from the original bunch that Joe had imported back when. So, they are still out there, stored away and maybe forgotten till the old guy passes or ? You're purchasing price is a bit off though, IMO !

Is the Papasha ( PPSH ) real/ active? In the US you would need a classIII license to have one that is a "De Activated War Trophy" "Dewated"

The GAZ 67b (1943-1953) is the "Last of the Mohicans", so to speak, in GAZ using Ford A/B parts; a B motor, top section of the hood from an A, instruments from an A, etc.

Perfect car for a Model A guy who wants 4x4. You can a buy nice one in Russia/Ukraine for about USD 15000. They're not bad off-road, see:

Interestingly, these were used by the North Koreans to take on US and Australian forces during the Korean War.

Probably a replica but I'm sure there are guys out there with real ones stashed at home. WW2 and even WW1 weapons have been seen in the conflict in Eastern Ukraine including Maxim guns and T-34 tanks, see:

Wow! That's impressive! that stuff had to survive 40 years of KGB snooping. Where was it? And all of it takes 7.62 X 54. How much of that is hanging around? The Russian Army only has that one sniper rifle that takes it today AFAIK. The Red army didn't use anything else except in it's pistols with one exception, the PPSH used a smaller pistol round that was originally the German "Broomhandle" Mauser round Also 7.62mm. I even noticed a couple of KAR 98s in 8 MM Mauser. What attic were they hiding in? I've seen some videos of guys searching what I'm sure are the Pripuyet marshes and finding a lot of WWII stuff, some of it was beyond help, but some of it looked restorable. Mostly Moisin Nagants and PPSHs. FUN!

Speaking of the GAZ-67b, here's something you don't see everyday. They're asking 4 million rubles. Certainly would be a show stopper in the USA, although maybe not the right car for the annual 4th of July parade (except in "Little Odessa" Brighton Beach NY).

A restored Cop jeep? "MILITIA" (Police) Is the color correct? How much are they asking? (Just for laughs) The military "jeep" looks like a pretty nice restoration .
Once, many years ago, I ran across one in Lakewood, NJ and no one knew what it was. The most distinctive thing about it was the split windshield. It was in and among a Ford mod A collection that a dealer, or his family had consigned to the dealer to sell.

Oh to have cheap access to Russia! How many of those down draft manifolds, carburetors, and fuel pumps (not mention the blocks themselves) are kicking around the garages and sheds of the former Soviet Union? Up to 1953 you say? And a supply of replacement parts made for years afterwards? I wonder if any tooling survives. The earliest GAZ were just mod A s, was everything melted down, or was it put aside into storage? I have always heard that the Soviets saved everything. My Russian friend, who was in the Artillery in WW2. said when the were retreating eastward, they just dug a hole and buried the guns to be dug up later.

Those Pictures leave me with many thoughts! First of all, The horror of that war on all sides, not only Russian. How many Germans were lost in it as well? Next, Where are all those WW2 Mausers, Moisin Nagants, coming from? Has all that stuff been hiding in barns ad shed since 1945?I didn't see any Shpagins or Tokerevs, or Schmeissers but I'm sure they must exist. A friend once had a semi-auto Tokerev (full auto or selective fire is outlawed in the US) and I shot it a few times. There was no delay in the bolt opening and the bolt was open before the bullet cleared the barrel, It was very painful on the ears! That Russian reenactress with the German uniform on, She didn't fool me for a moment! Something about her said "Russian" immediately. But it was a good show and I'd like to see more. Nice vehicles!
