Default carb Q...

Did Ford ever make a carb with an inter-changeable (smaller/larger) venture / throat ?

Hi Rick,
The only one I know of is the Zenith B which could have 2 sizes of venturi, normally 22 MM for the B engine and a 20 MM if using the B carburetor on the A engine which had the smaller intake manifold, the carburetor bores were the same size --- OK what are you dreaming up now, LOL.

the zenith carb for the small bore engine had a narrower throat ( about 19mm dia) on the venturi.

Hey Brian,
Thanks ! You know how 'dreams' are, eh....you wake up ....just before the important part/solution is revealed !
At the time, I thought/felt that the idea was important somehow and that I was compelled to ask. Maybe a good idea would be removable/changeable such part to change performance of any carb ?

Crazy huh ? Well the real thoughts are even worse

Zenith made a variety of venturi sizes for the B carburetor. This was probably because many were used on stationary industrial engines. Some years ago there was a fellow selling off new Zenith A and B parts on eBay. He had one each of sizes 17, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, and 26 for the B-type carb. There was a flurry of bids on the larger sizes and I mistakenly bid on the 17. I still have it and had a notion to install it just for the inspection if my area ever imposed annual emissions tests on vehicles.

Thanks good/interesting information never known !
question:
Is the 17 smaller size, 26 bigger size ?
And, is each carb ID somehow with size ?
