Did you check for accommodations in Tooele or Salt Lake City, Utah? They are about 1.5 hrs east of Bonneville.

Salt Lake is a long drive from Bonneville when you are racing. Derek, try looking on the Landracing Forum. People post on there a lot when they can not make it and have rooms to give up. Good luck this year. I am still going to try and make it even though I wont be on a team this year. Mark. http://www.landracing.com/forum/

I have heard you can camp right near the site in a winnebago.

That would suit me far better when I go than a flea trap motel .

Watch the movie 'The World's Fastest Indian' it involves an Australian main character and Bonneville. VERY good film you'll like it. True story makes it even better.

Umm, Burt Munro was a KIWI.

  1. Burt Munro
  2. Herbert James "Burt" Munro was a New Zealand motorcycle racer, famous for setting an under-1,000 cc world record, at Bonneville, 26 August 1967. This record still stands today. Wikipedia
  3. Born: March 25, 1899, Edendale, New Zealand
  4. Died: January 6, 1978, Invercargill, New Zealand

Derek,

We are also staying at the Garter, 4006 coupe and 9030 GL.

I am not sure if Moser is coming out, lets pit together if we can.

When are you arriving?

John

I bet Hollywood nicked him Burt too.

Burt is the yank spelling , and Bert is the OZ/Kiwi spelling as it is short for Herbert .

I could be wrong, but his short name does look 'Americanized ' .
