Default 49 Ford coil springs

Hi All, Trying to help a friend out. Seems we can't find a place to buy stock coil springs for the front of a 49 Ford sedan. So far, all I can find is springs that raise or lower the stance of the car. He has a set that raise the car ridiculously high. If I knew the measurement of a new stock spring , I could cut the springs to the right height. Really don't want to do that. I know it's not recommended. Any help would be appreciated.

Any spring shop should be able to make them.

ANOTHER reason NOT to cut a coil spring........the shorter you cut it, the STIFFER it becomes to compress. DD
