Default Spark Advance Lever adjustment

I had someone put in the Randy Gross steering box. Now the spark advance lever only goes fully retarded and only half way to advanced..I read somewhere that it can be adjusted but can't find it...Anyone know how to do this? thank, david

Short answer..........Loosen the clamp where the column slips over the steering box and rotate accordingly.

Retighten clamp and you're good to go. Vast improvement.

You'll have to loosen the clamp on the column inside the cabin also.

This adjustment is pretty critical. The arm on the advance plate needs to to travel fully (stop to stop) in the notch in the distributor body when hooked to the linkage and using the lever on the column.

If you paid someone to install the steering column I'd have them finish the job, and/or be on the lookout for other things they did wrong.

Can the pieces on the end of rods that the shafts attach be put on wrong or do they only go on one way?

I understand the 30-31 has the adjustable band on the column...the 28-29 does not.

That's not an issue with the F100 box he has. It's adjustable just like the 30/31
