popping noise
Hello everyone,
Just recently finished my 29 speedster. I have noticed a continuous popping noise then the engine dies. I have a model B distributor and a tilitson carb. Having trouble finding the problem could use some help. Thanks, Jim M |

Re: popping noise
Could be fuel starvation. Check the easiest things first. Is the gas cap vent working? If so, check for clogs in the gas line.

Re: popping noise
Next time it dies, stick your finger in the carb near the choke blade and see if it is wet with gas. Bet it comes out dry.

Re: popping noise
When the engine died, checked choke blade. Dry as a bone. Removed the gas line going to carb at first a trickle then stops, then flows more steady.
Something in the tank? Newly lined tank? |

Re: popping noise
What was used to "line" the tank?? Was it Ethanol proof?? Do you have the "pencil" filter installed in the tank??
