Default Piston rods

Do the wrist pins press in and out of the Pistons on Model A

The original style is a center lock. If your not reusing pistons and pins, just drive them out. If they’re the clip on each end , remove clips, support the piston and drive the wrist pin out. I use a 4X4 with a hole in the center for the pin to go in, and a long socket to drive them out.

Generally, pins are always a slip fit in the piston. Some engines use an interference fit in the small end of the rod. Model A used a snap lock to hold the pin centered in the rod. Virtually all replacement pistons are end lock - full floating for the A.

Last time I checked it was lite press fit for the piston and floating at the rod for the wrist pins and the ring clips are to keep the pins from moving out to the cylinder walls just in case.

Thanks fellows didn't know where to use press as I thought they should be light press. Have new ones on the way

Pins should have .000-50 thousandths clearance, Only.

In the pin bushings.
