Just about any Ford sedan delivery would be worth it.

Re: 37 Delivery project, ugh
That looks good compared to a 34 sedan delivery I did back in the 1980s. Mine looked like it had been hit by a train in the rear but was pretty rust free. I did finish it but it took about 5 years.
Hopefully you are doing the work yourself and not having to pay anybody for labor. Good luck, you can do it. |

Re: 37 Delivery project, ugh
Your a brave man to take on the project to resurrect that truck. Are there that many bullet holes in the other side?

Re: 37 Delivery project, ugh
I love it.
Both of the 2 '36 sedan deliveries I had were much worse, and both came out nice. I was lucky that both had decent rear doors and the special rear bumper. |

Re: 37 Delivery project, ugh
don't hesitate to contact me at zach(at)suhrsc.com or on here if you need any dimensions for the back of the body. I have a '39 that should be pretty much the same from the cowl back

Re: 37 Delivery project, ugh
Thanks for the support and help guys. I don't do metal work, so it will be slow and pricey.

Re: 37 Delivery project, ugh
I am not sure I have every seen a 37 sedan delivery. Good for you for saving it.
This inspired me to post an old mid-thirties photo with a SD and a couple of panels in it. |

Re: 37 Delivery project, ugh
I've seen folks resurrect Fords that were a lot worse than that one. It has a lot of sheet metal to finish but it will be worth the effort. You don't see deliveries like that driving around often. You will get good at metal work with that amount of practice. You will have to pay more for paint than the average Joe. There is a lot of surface area there.
An old friend of mine patched over 50 bullet holes in an old Model A deluxe roadster. He cleaned up & straitened the areas around the holes then made little patches to fit each one. He welded them all in with an oxy-acetylene torch & pounded them with hammer & dolly to harden things back up. He actually used very little filler rod in the process. Your problem on that will be the whether you can reach the welds in such long panels. Some times you have to get a good friend to help on stuff like that but it can be done with a lot of patience & beer if you so imbibe. Last edited by rotorwrench; 01-12-2019 at 07:26 PM. |
