Default they are still out there

I went to the early Bird swap meet yesterday. and later in the day I was taking my time and looked in a booth and seen a base for a cap, when I was looking at it, it apeared to be a NOS Jarvis base. I ask the gentlemen how much and he said he wanted to sell the cap with the top half but about an hour before some tried to opening it up and broke the hinge. I ask where the top was and he showed me. and now I have what looks to be an NOS Jarvis Quail the plating is real nice and it has the original asbestos gasket still on it. but i is broken and I looking for idea`s on how to fix it without doing anymore damage to it.

if you put a repro, and an original next to each other there is no comparison in the details. just like most other repro parts they are not even close.
