Throw out bearing hub wear ?
I am in the process of replacing my engine have a new throw out bearing but not sure about the hub it has some wear in the center where the bearing rides and has more wear on top then bottom. The back 1/4" or so where the bearing starts to get snug seems ok but not sure about band in the middle.
I see the vendors sell a replacement hub but as there is sometimes problem with repro parts again not sure if I am better to keep the original. here is a photo of mine hub the band in the center is where the wear is |

Re: Throw out bearing hub wear ?
That looks normal, as it is only the inner third or so that is big enough for a press fit. Done intentionally.

Just make sure the T/O bearing is a press fit. Some T/O bearings had a grease fitting attached with a hose to the T/O bearing for lubrication. |

Re: Throw out bearing hub wear ?
Remember to grease each moning part, which includes the pressure plate fingers and the hooks on the return spring.
