Be aware that there two sizes of the switch covers. If you find one it may be the wrong one. Years ago I needed the cover and I had to buy the complete starter to get it. The seller would not break the starter components.

The shorter shorter came in around September 1928.

Remember ... the 'off-set' switch/cover had a 'notch' to prevent the rod from twisting. Until i found an original, i made do by modifying a .50 cal shell casing for my 'non-notched' switch

I just ordered and received a cover, straight rod, and pedal cap from Joe Amendola, Ottawa, Ontario. Joe is referred to in the top thread.
Phone: 613-722-2501. email: [email protected]
Installed yesterday in a November 28 unrestored car. Fit great. Very happy. The cap appears to be an accelerator cap.
Does anyone know if Ford originally used accelerator caps as starter rod caps on early starters? Is this correct?
