Default 21" Split Rim Lock Screw Thread

I am restoring a 21" split rim and the only issue I'm running into is that the threads for the lock screw need to be cleaned out and I can't figure out what tap should be used. Any suggestions?

If you have a tap die set use your thread gauge to figure it out. The only one I have that used the screw was drilled and tapped at some time oversized.

Sorry for the delay, got tied up in weddings. I ended up doing the same thing re tapping the hole to 5/16's 24 thread.
Thanks for the info.
