Default 1934 radio antenna

Help original 1934 radio antenna was that the chicken wires in the soft top? Can I use poultry wire in my 34 coupe soft top for my 1934 radio antenna?

When I restored a '31 Buick, I used the chicken wire in the top (insert) for an era correct Philco radio. It worked wonderfully.

As Kurt indicates, it is essential that the chicken wire not be grounded to the body.

I bought a 34 five window in 1963 for $350.00. It had an old tube type radio that took a while to warm up. It had the antenna in the soft top but it would not work when it rained. And no, I sold it for 375 and thought I came out great.
