Default Are these Kelsey-Hayes wheels?

And if so, how can you tell? (They have the common 5-lug Ford hole pattern.)

Is the expensive one made by Motor Rim and Wheel (it is not a Kelsey)? The one in the picture has 36 spokes and the Kelseys have 40 spokes. The two on the outside look like '35 Ford.

Well, that's interesting. How expensive is "expensive"?

KH wheels are not sealed at the spokes/wheel & are adjustable . '35 fords are sealed . if you have a KH , it will be stamped on the hub .

The outer two are Ford wheels. The center one is a Motor Wheel Corp wheel. There is a thread on this site that details all the wheels nicely.

The common "bent spoke" Kelsey's are not adjustable. There were a few made that were adjustable but I haven't seen one in years.

Would $100 be too much to ask for that middle Motor Wheel wheel? The tire is bald.

There is a matter of condition for a wheel that can't be seen in a small photo, such as straightness, rust pitting, and paint/coatings. I recently paid $175 for a perfect 4.5" wide Kelsey to complete a set of near perfect 4.5"s. I have sold Kelseys with slight evidence of lug nut damage, but otherwise good for $50 and wheels with a couple of welded spokes for $20. These days the Ford '35 wheels can also be seen offered for what was formerly Kelsey prices. The key word is offered. In sizes other than 16" such as 17" and 18", Motor Wheel can be offered for $100+ea but would not mind a set of 18" if perfect, but not yet found. A lot of really trash wheels for silly prices down to $5 and misrepresented as to true model. If condition is important, never buy wheels with tires because so much rust damage hides beneath. $100 for even a great Motor Wheel 16" would not be the price to a friend. More like $75 or less. Complete sets a little more. Good Luck: Fred A
