Displayman ..........................
In "Back To The Future", if you notice, that convertible keeps changing from a '47 to a '48, back and forth. Keep your eye on the front parking lights. MIKE |

Re: V-8 Fords on Film
WOW. Just watched the Sting again last night, I wasn't paying any attention to the plot (of course I have seen it dozens of times) just looking at the neat collection of cars.

Re: V-8 Fords on Film
I have been traveling down south for the last several days.
I am back and here is my V-8 Ford on Film for today. 1938 Ford Convertible Sedan A very young Glenn Ford is trying to marry his pretty fiance in Blondie Plays Cupid (1940). He drives her to the Justice of the Peace in a beautiful 1938 Ford Convertible Sedan. His unreasonable future father in law steals the convert sedan and Glenn and his fiance have to drive back to the homestead in a Model T that will only start if the driver pretends like he is going to get out and use the crank. There are many good shots of this 1938 Convertible Sedan. Hey guys, thanks for reminding me about Back to the Future. Great job! Hey Fordor Larry! I lost your phone number, I sent a pm. Thanks. Re: V-8 Fords on Film
There was a series called San Francisco Beat. It was an early police show in S.F.(actually when S.F. was a great town) and the two detectives drove a 50 Ford Fordor. Also check out "To Please a Lady" with Clark Gable and Barbara Stanwyck. Great old movie about midget racing and going to Indianapolis. Will Geer(grandpa in the Waltons) is Gable's mechanic. Lots of old Fords in this movie. And check out "The Big Wheel" with Mickey Rooney. Another movie about auto racing and also has many old Fords in it.

Re: V-8 Fords on Film
I re-watched The California Kid (1974) this morning. I certainly like the 1934 Ford Three-Window Coupe (Not Flathead Powered) a lot better with the steel wheels it has in the movie than the slotted mags that it now has. There are a lot of 1950s cars in this movie (including a 1951 Ford Sedan). A very young Nick Nolte is the tow truck driver.

Re: V-8 Fords on Film
Anyone know what W C Fields movie has him standing by a 33 std 4d thats trashed and sitting on top of some bushes ? The lf door is gone , the top is torn up and he is holding the steering wheel in his hand - some kind of spring sticking out of it !??! . I have a pic of this scene but there is no notation as to the title of the movie it is from . Thanks

Re: V-8 Fords on Film
Yes, that W.C Fields movie is called Never Give a Sucker an Even Break (1941).
I was saving this one for later, but since you mention it here it is: 1933 Ford Fordor 1933 Ford Fordor 1933 Ford Fordor 1937 Ford (model unknown) I think they use two 1933 Fordors--one they drive like crazy and the other is the one that is wrecked. There is a very funny driving scene at end where the Ford is really put through a lot. Filmed on location on Southern California streets, there are a lot of old cars in this ending "chase" sequence.
