Default Stainless Model T mirror

Hi I have what I think is a Model T stainless steel type outside mirror that clamps to the drivers side windshield. My question is, what do I clean it with and should I clean it ? It has a brownish color to it now.

Brownish color would tell me it is brass, which is what many of the clamp on types would be made of. Good brass cleaner should work.

Thank you for replying but the previous owner scratched it and it doesn't look yellow. I will try Brass cleaner and see.

I spent all day cleaning it. It is Brass not S/S I think it had 80 years of tarnish on it . Guess it was used at some time because there was a few spots that burned the brass.

It must have been hit by Seagull S--T.
