Default Hershey Feedback

I thought we could get some feedback from those who attend the event, and give the rest of us who couldn't attend something to drool over. Any interesting finds, rare items or cars for sale?

Sorry guys all my pics and comments are on facebook. Sometimes photobucket is too much work. But nice weather and not too crowded.

I've been going to Hershey for 30+ years and found more goodies I had on my "wish list" than I ever had before. Mix in four glorious days of cloud-free days of 40 degrees in the am to 70+ in the pm and it's as close to heaven as I'm ever likely to get!

Bob Drake: Appeared to be somewhat less there. Only part of '40 to be seen was the floor.
Brookville: Usually they have a trailer full of bodies to be delivered at the show. Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see it.
Roy Nacewicz: Not there.
The guys who have all the tin in the Chocolate Field seemed to have less.
Must have seen 10 '28-'29 gas tanks.
Forgot to charge my camera before I went. AARRRRGH!!

PA tax laws seemed to have soured a lot of businesses from setting up. Carpenter has downsized considerably.

Good to see so many ev-8ers. Another great Hershey. We sold every major item we brought. And I found a spare chin piece for the nose of my 39 Pickup.

I just got back from Hershey. Its not lke it use to be. The good parts are not there any more. Most good V8 stuff is gone. The crowed was light and they were not spending. Most V8 NOS parts are long gone. There were alot of vender spaces that were empty. Cars as a rule were not selling all though, a Packard 41 woodie sold for 185 thousand. Alot of cars and no buyers. The only part was the weather,it was great.

Weather was outstanding and found a few pieces!!! Did see a lot of cars with sold wrote on them in the swapmeet. I agree with the other posts, the crowd was light, lots of empty spaces, and had to dodge golf carts and scooters!

I found good parts (NOS) reasonable, bought a set of 21A rods in a box ---very reasonable, much less than the cost of reconditioning, and they are all within 1 gram, a 36 brake drum --nos, a set of valve guides, some nos A parts, fuse holder/resistor ---etc, you just have to look in back, in the boxes underneath---

Was up today, Saturday, and wont go back. It seems that on Saturday everyone opens slowly and then packs up and leaves. I literally looked at one set of 32 Fenders, walked 400 ft to look at some reproductions to compare prices, and when I came back about 5 mins later, they had already packed up and left.

I guess you have to go on the weekdays. People who work for a living I guess are only required to look at the car corral.

I found some really good 32 and 35 stuff... The big vendors we all love are going away due to the state of PA wanting there share of the money... Nos stuff was few and far between. Picked up a cool set of NOS 37 coupe accessory Ford issued seat covers in mint condition. Sold a lot of parts as well and was very pleased!!

Hershey Is THE BEST CAR EVENT to Attend I picked up my 1930 model a cab and bought a complete model a distributor with good cap and everything already painted for $20 and a 1930 model a water neck for my motor. and ordered bed parts from brookeville roadster and made them throw in a hat and t shirt. I had a great time made some great buys. Hershey is where it is at.
