Default 37 Deluxe Coupe Seat Glide Problem

Trying to resolve an issue with the bench seat glides on my coupe. The seat adjuster position lock will not hold. I have them lubed up good and they slide great. When I try and engage the lock, it acts like it wants to catch on the drivers side only, but will not hold. The fabric wrapped springs are attached on both glides, but it seems to me, that I must be missing some critical part. There is no rod (which I would assume there should be to transfer the lock action from one glide to the other side. I have attached a picture of the drivers side glide. I have search the net for picture of the lock function, but come up empty. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Nate Anello

Don't know if your '37 is the same; but my '40 has a straight rod that goes side to side.

The ends go in a hole similar to the one in your seat track.

There are gears on the rod that engage the notches in the seat track; effectively keeping the tracks in sync.

A similar rod was used on '37 adjustable seats as well.

So does anyone have that parts needed to correct this issue (rod and gears) that you would be willing to sell? Thanks Nate Anello

Gregg, Thanks so much for sending those. That is very helpful. I did find a listing for a rod with the gears on eBay for a 1947. Rod width is too wide, but thinking I can cut it down and weld it back up for the correct width. Just confirming with seller the rod diameter is 3/8". Thanks Nate

Yes, the rod diameter is 3/8". Gregg's seat looks much better than mine. The length of the rod is around 36" and it has two 10 tooth gears on it that are about 1" in diameter. I think you could make one if necessary.

I know that your super busy running your parts business. If you get a chance to look for the rod and locate it, I'd gladly purchase it. I'll hold off on the Ebay seller for now. I sent you a private message as well Nate Anello
