Default ? regarding phaeton top

Have an early AR phaeton and the top has no rests in the back, however there appears to be 2 "punch outs" for rests. Can someone explain why there are no rests and why the "punch outs" haven't been opened?
What do the rests look like?
thanks!

Those are rubber plugs filling the holes as the top rests were an accessory item.

Not mounted on a 35A (actually on 35B) but this gets the idea across.

Brent,

On the second picture of the 35B, I noticed the rag between the top iron and the body. I do the same with my 35B to prevent scratching. Do you know of any cures for this?

Thanks,

Will

In my experience that is typically due to reproduction top bows. I've never tried tweaking them on a finished car.

Yes I agree, or due to non-restored original irons. Top irons that are bent/tweaked/worn do not fold correctly either.
