15 inch Wheel ID
I have a set of 15 inch wheels 5 on 5 1/2. Inside hubcap bumps just over 8 inches. Could they be of a later F1

Re: 15 inch Wheel ID
Ford is not the only manufacturer that used 5 x 5-1/2" wheels.

Re: 15 inch Wheel ID
Wheel has four inside bumps where hubcap mounts that measure inside to inside just under 8 1/8. Six inch rim. Not a lot of hub cap options that I have found

Re: 15 inch Wheel ID
How are you measuring width? Across the lips or down inside between bead lips? If it’s six across the lips it’s probably five between. Stu

Re: 15 inch Wheel ID
I have 5 or 6 15" wheels that I'll give to anyone that wants them. some are in good shape and some not, but you have to take team all. I've been converting my 5 on 5 1/2 axles to 5 on 4 1/2. X 16. The 15: tire size is a thing of the past and will become more expensive and the choice of sizes will be less. The 16 is the size of the future, at least it's what i was told by a dealer. I thought 17 would be in but 18 has a better chance. At present the 16 are plentiful in the 4 1/2 size I picked up a nice set of good looking wheels for 15 bucks apiece.. I realize this doesn't meet the demand of the stock restored car, but the aftermarket like cooker will have what you need. For average guy that just wants a driver this is the way to go. My 47 Int with 280 Flathead wil live for ever. My great gran-kids will learn to drive in Gramps old truck and she'll climb any hill in Vermont in OD.

Re: 15 inch Wheel ID
Why did you not go to 5 on 5 1/2 by 16. Loads of those around. Also seems that brand new wheels cheaper than converting

Re: 15 inch Wheel ID
What future? At our age the future is now. There are plenty of 15" tires still available. Who cares about 20+ years from now.

Re: 15 inch Wheel ID
I tracked that 15” x 6” size through time and don’t find another until the mid 1970s. Whether they’d still have the “innie” nubs I doubt. Stu

Re: 15 inch Wheel ID
Found them with a bunch of stuff in a boneyard at the back of a friends ranch here locally. There were remnants of three or four F1's near by. So I assumed later F1. There were plenty of 16 inchers and later 15 inch truck with bumps out

Re: 15 inch Wheel ID
The picture makes it look new or restored. Is that how you found it or did you paint it? And are there others the same width? What’s your plan for it? Stu

Re: 15 inch Wheel ID
At 85 and 5/6 I'll never have to worry about wheels and tires. But my children and gran kids will have something that will ever have to worry about getting tires for it. Unfortunately, My grand daughter was the one that wanted the stick shift, and she's in Baltimore. I put new tires on it 6 years ago and only 500 miles on them, but I'll have to replace them in 4 years. with the 10 year rule
