The Sage of Oshkosh
Guys,
Pickup the latest issue of Ol' Skool Rodz........our own Flat Jack Myer is the subject of a feature article. Alice and I have had the pleasure of meeting Jack at Hershey numerous times. Pretty cool for everyone to see what Jack is all about. Charlie ny |

Re: The Sage of Oshkosh
Something like this is the only reason I would even consider purchasing something called "Ol' Skool Rodz".

Re: The Sage of Oshkosh
John Gunnell who wrote the article is a member of an informal group we call the "Coffee Clutchers". We get together for breakfast or lunch and sometimes tour some of the guy's shops. John used to work for Old Cars Weekly and now does freelance writing. When we were at my place, I noticed he was taking some pictures and this is what came of it. My thanks to him.

Re: The Sage of Oshkosh
I got to meet Jack and had him build me a couple of flatheads, excellent work and honest to work with, one of the flatheads installed in a 32 roadster which will be run at the Race of Gentlemen this june in Wildwood N.J. I would recommend him for engine building . Bob

I got it today. I have not bought a car mag for many years. Interesting.

Re: The Sage of Oshkosh
It's the July issue and not on the newsstands here in Oshkosh yet. The May issue is still there. It's a bimonthly magazine.

Re: The Sage of Oshkosh
Got to know Jack when I bought my 39 Deluxe. He has helped me immensely through the restoration. We have become pretty good friends and I love hanging out at his shop. I purchased a 37 humpback that is going to be a frame off restoration so will be picking his brain and parts bins a lot.😁

Re: The Sage of Oshkosh
Hi Everyone. This seems to be the cover of issue #88, July 2018.
This is text from one of their social areas. "Ol' Skool Rodz #88, the Annual T&A Issue, is now on sale at your favorite newsstand. The T&A issue individual car features are all Model T or Model A rods, and we have some definitely cool ones. This is our best T&A issue ever! Besides the 10 awesome rods, there's also coverage of Symco Shakedown Mooneyes Japan, and Eville Shindig! Better pick this one up soon!"

Re: The Sage of Oshkosh
I’ve known Jack for more than 40 years. He finally got me into flat heads a year or so ago...built the engine in my ‘39. Helps anyone who stops into his shop (especially me). Great guy. Jack, save me a copy. Haven’t found it yet.

Thanks, Jim. Nothing but a bunch of old farts who get together and BS about their cars. A great group.

Around here we would say “klatsch”. I assume it’s German.
