Default Granies's china from Uncle Max

This morning I received a package from Uncle Max. Several weeks age I sent him two of my Stromberg carbs for him to re-build. I'm so pleased with the outstanding job he did, I had to share it you you folks.
Thanks again Max.

Absolutely beautiful workmanship. Maybe it takes an old Ford nut to enjoy such things? Almost orgasm quality.

I spent some time chatting with him at his shop when I dropped my carb off. He's a super-nice guy that doesn't mind showing some of his tricks. He's made some neat tools to get the job done, too.

Can't quite read the stickers atop the bowl...they look like 1950's Ford rebuilt ones. Are they custom Max ones or duplicates of Ford ones or...? Whatever they say, they are a nice added touch on beautiful carbs!

The rumor has it Uncle Max is also secretly toiling away on a "new" top secret Stromberg-esque hydrogen fuel cell injection unit/carb. with the goal to win the $1,000,000 Progressive Insurance 100 mpg challange.

Besides that, Uncle Max does great work. They certainly look nice!

Here's the sticker. It reads, "rebuilt with genuine Stromberg parts."

OK. I got them installed and hooked up. Next I'll be adjusting and road testing. I'll post results in a couple of dasys depending on the weather....

Side note: Be sure to remove the red plastic packing covers before you smoke test 'em ...

I had to remove the red covers, my air cleaners wouldn't fit over them....

It was out a week ago. Throw out bearing gave up again! China junk. Found a Timken, made in USA and she's back together. The road test the other day went great. I missed ty-rods for other reasons, but I'll be at the Alter Boys show in Natick, tomorrow and at the "Gathering of the Faithful" on October 16th, in Rochester, MA. If all goes well, I'll be at the Good Guys show in Scottsdale, AZ in November!
