Default motor still stalls

The ignorant one here again. The engine will start up, run strong for 15-20 seconds and then just die. I have..replaced the carb, removed the add-on inline filter, removed the gas cap ,installed a new coil. The timing and dwell are O.K. Chocking the engine will not keep it running. How about the condenser?

It's a fuel problem, not an electrical problem. Disconnect your gas line at the carb and see if you can drain about a gallon or two of gas out of your tank. If it stops shortly after you open the valve and refuses to drain, you know it's something between the tank and the carb. Probably rust and junk in the gas tank clogging the flow out of the tank. And if you decide that's it, get one of those screen filters that goes on the top of your shut-off valve, install it, and see if that takes care of your problem.

Sounds like the carb float is set too low - even if its a new carb, you should check it. Take low pressure air hose and blow back through the fuel line with the cap off to see if there is a blockage. Does it start immediately after it dies? or Does it take a while of cranking before she comes back to life?

You fully retard the spark when you start the engine, does it die with the spark still
fully retarded or after you advance it a little? I'm wondering if the wire on the lower
distributor plate is grounding when you advance the spark.

Lupie,
Don't get 2 threads started at once, too confusing. Just add to your original & it brings it to the top again. BillW.

Bill gave you the same suggestion in your thread yesterday that I gave you today. J Franklin is right: Did you do that yet?

And Bill's suggestion today is also a good one.

Apparently he didn't check what we have suggested.. Until he does that,, he really can't be helped.. His problem seems like fuel flow [if the carburetor is set correctly],, but,, he hasn't answered us..

Thanks for all your help guys. It turned out to be a plugged line between the sediment bowl and the gas tank. I really appreciate all the advice.
