Re: 35 coupe engine pics, whats missing?
The fuel pump goes on the back of the intake, the brackets on the firewall were added---possibly for xtra horns(my 36 had xtra horns there), the generator and regulator on the firewall are from later cars--possibly 39 delux

Re: 35 coupe engine pics, whats missing?
Just a few to start the ball rolling....
1. Generator and regulator are later model 2 brush. Should be a 3 brush generator with cut out on top of generator. 2. Carburetor is later model. Should be either Stromberg 48 or 97. 3. Air cleaner is missing. 4. Breather should be the funnel shaped design. 5. Fuel pump and fp to carb gas line are missing. 6. Rubber grommet missing where wiring is coming through firewall. 7. Spark plug wire to plug connectors are not '35. 8. Water pumps would be '36 or aftermarket replacements based on grease fittings coming out of pumps on a rearward angle. 9. Coil on top of distributor is not '35. Not sure what it is...never seen one like it. I am wondering if your car has/had a Columbia rear based on the vacuum plate between the carb and the intake manifold, and the part on the firewall behind the fuel pump stand?

Re: 35 coupe engine pics, whats missing?
Yeah, looks like it has a Southwind gas heater from the picture of the firewall and the line going to the adapter under the carb. (I'm in the throws of installing a Southwind on my 35 PU so I caught that right away.)

Re: 35 coupe engine pics, whats missing?
Jerry, Do you have any details or specifications on this aftermarket coil? Who was the manufacturer?

Re: 35 coupe engine pics, whats missing?
Blueblood, Don't throw away those spark plug resistors!!!!! They were indeed correct for a radio equiped 35/36 Ford. They are fairly hard to find these days. When these resistors were used the knurled nut was removed from the spark plug and replaced by the more standard spark plug terminal that was supplied with the resistors.

Re: 35 coupe engine pics, whats missing?
Some pics of a 'mostly' stock '35 engine.....I'm sure the 'X purts' can find things that are not correct with this one as well...and so can I....but, most is correct.
A couple more pictures

Re: 35 coupe engine pics, whats missing?
John, not trying to be criticle but are those the correct plug wire ends, thought ends were supposed to be brass wire hooks. also never saw the type of grease fittings on a ford before.[i know what you have there].I have the optional pressure release grease fittings if you want them? They were an option for 35-36 from factory as far as i know. Other wize looks good. ken ct.

Re: 35 coupe engine pics, whats missing?
Should be a 97 carb if car was made after April. I'm guessing the carb on the car could use some rehab!

Re: 35 coupe engine pics, whats missing?
Ken, plug wire ends are incorrect as are those grease cups/fittings on the water pumps and the pumps are/were incorrect ('36) as well. This was how the engine in my fordor sedan looked when I bought it in '07. Things have changed a bit since then.
Jerry, I was just curious about that coil since I have never seen one like that before.

Re: 35 coupe engine pics, whats missing?
If it was original it should be covered in oil and grease, LOL. Looks great to me.

Re: 35 coupe engine pics, whats missing?
LOL on the grease. I believe the engine in my pics never had the heads removed before I got it. The car had 41k original miles. It was very well cared for car. I had never seen an original example in that nice of condition. Even my wife liked it and was glad I bought it .
