Default Speedometer Cable Length

I'm adding an overdrive transmission to my '51 Crestliner. Any idea if the speedometer cable length changes between the standard three-speed gearbox and the overdrive unit? It looks like the port on the OD transmission is a bit further back than on the standard one, but it also looks like there might be enough slack in the cable to work. Any idea?

parts book says for a 51 speedometer cable is 70 3/4" parts # 1A 17260-A replaced by part # BPA 17260-A for both 3 speed and overdrive

Not Ford but Mercury in '51 shows the OD application to be 7" longer than three speed.

Interesting... The book doesn't list any other lengths, does it? If not, it would seem OD and non-OD transmissions use use the same cable.
