Speedometer Cable Length
I'm adding an overdrive transmission to my '51 Crestliner. Any idea if the speedometer cable length changes between the standard three-speed gearbox and the overdrive unit? It looks like the port on the OD transmission is a bit further back than on the standard one, but it also looks like there might be enough slack in the cable to work. Any idea?

Re: Speedometer Cable Length
parts book says for a 51 speedometer cable is 70 3/4" parts # 1A 17260-A replaced by part # BPA 17260-A for both 3 speed and overdrive

Re: Speedometer Cable Length
Not Ford but Mercury in '51 shows the OD application to be 7" longer than three speed.
