Double A cab trouble
I'm trying to figure out how to replace the channel that was originally formed onto the top edge of the back of a model AA truck cab.
Mine was butchered in a botched "restoration"attempt. Would it be possible to roll this as a channel or could I weld a couple of flanges together? Is there anyone that could fabricate this"channel"? for me? the photo on the left is what I have to work with, the other is what I am trying to reproduce as a weld in "patch panel" Last edited by Double Trouble; 12-21-2012 at 12:01 AM. Re: Double A cab trouble
Send me some pix via email with a lot more detail so I can see exactly what you are needing.

Re: Double A cab trouble
I don't see anything wrong if you are asking about the end where it curves, this is what mine looks like.

Re: Double A cab trouble
Thanks for posting that photo, I only wish mine looked that good, My cab is welded together and is missing the whole top nailing flange and trim channel. The other photo I posted was meant as an example of what I hope to come up with in the way of a patch panel (barring a donor cab back) I should have mentioned that in my post.I'll try to edit it

That is why pictures would be a great help for us to offer advice. If it is missing what I susppect,, then going to a local sheetmetal shop and have them double brake a flange that can be welded on would probably be easiest. |

Re: Double A cab trouble
I've got the panels that go over the door(not the welded-in home made ones in my first photo)between the visor and the shell back, it's whole nailing flange from rain gutter to rain gutter I'm looking for
thanks just the same. Last edited by Double Trouble; 12-23-2012 at 12:13 AM. Reason: additional info |

Re: Double A cab trouble
You have the option of using a set of step beading dies in a bead roller then use a Shrinker to shrink the metal to get the arc that the roof has. Then weld the pieces together
