Re: 4 blade fan woble
Replace with new aluminum two blade fan and leakless water pump.
Two more problems solved. Enjoy. |

Re: 4 blade fan woble
WHN is absolutely right!! Why do you need a four blade fan? Do you have some sort a hot rod that you need a four blade fan?

Re: 4 blade fan woble
The two blades of the airplane type fan is plenty to move the air. Many airplanes only have two blades on a motor.

Re: 4 blade fan woble
A two blade fan is said to actually move more air than a four blade, according to some one that did an actual study on it.

Re: 4 blade fan woble
looking at this closer ,found out that the rivets that hold the hub to the fan (4) were loose. I might try to tighten them up and see how that goes. thanks to all, steve

Re: 4 blade fan woble
Just be warned, if it wobbles too much it could stress or fatigue the blades. Make sure your fan is still in good condition and running in a balanced fashion. I had one of those four blades on my car originally but one of the blades decided to crack and let go. Still have the hood dimple as a reminder.

Re: 4 blade fan woble
I wouldn't risk body damage. Better to buy the aluminum fan.

Old fan blades are known for breaking at speed. The damage that could be done is not worth saving the cost of a new blade. If it happens when you have the hood open, someone could get really hurt. This is a “known” problem with Model A fan blades. Change the blade. |

Otherwise you will take the chance of wiping out your perfectly good radiator. Don't ask me how I know this! (BTW -- I am now using one of those 6-blade plastic fans)
