Default Fixed my fuel guage

Guage was inop on my 36, so took it apart, and found the float in sad shape. Made a new one from 2 model A floats, and now it works fine.

Ethanol gas, most likely. This is probably why the gauge in my '39 pickup quit.

The floats are available from early Ford parts sources since near all the King Seeley senders use the same float.

The only good thing about the repro sender unit was the float I scavenged to put on the sender with the shot float that was already in the '36 when I got it.

Like others have noted, the original shellacked cork float on my '47 sender arm eventually got saturated and sank. I bought a Carpenter replacement sender unit and stole the brass "tank-float" off it. It snapped right onto the original wire arm and all is well. Understand they sell the brass tank-float itself.
