Hershey Bucket List Vendor Advice
I sell a few things on fordbarn for my father and I. My father is 75 and has always wanted to go to Hershey and carlaisle. He has about 50 model a doors, 15 gas tanks, fenders, grille shells, floors, cowls, trunk lids, frames etc. I think I could get most of it in a well packed truck and car trailer but maybe not. I would love to drive from Montana and get his stuff in Colorado and head to Hershey but the trip would be about 2800 miles.
I was wondering if it is even possible to get a space or two. Also, is it worth the cost to drive all the way to sell his stuff or just fly to see hershey. He also has some 32-34 stuff and some 40-48 ford stuff but not sure if that stuff would be better to bring or the model a stuff. Couldn't bring it all, no way. Does anyone on fordbarn give up the spaces for a year so others can go or is that just a pipedream. Thanks for your advice. Ryan Martin Dillon, Montana |

Forget selling the stuff, as 31 says. There are spaces and yes you can get one or two if you apply early.
Get the scooter and have fun! Stay at a motel/hotel, etc. sell the parts on the Barn and local CL |

Re: Hershey Bucket List Vendor Advice
I am going to disagree with some on here. If the things you have are big items that are a pain to ship. I would go ahead and bring them, Your dad could mix time between wandering with the cart and manning the booth and talking to people. Biggest cost benefit is access to people with cash and not having to factor in shipping. Will you make a ton of money? No. But people will be looking for the big items that the shipping kills them on normally.

While I see everyones point, I wouldnt subject my 75 year old father to a 2800 mile ride and the exhaustion of the work involved. Aint worth it.
to each his own. |

Ronn take your father to Hershey and enjoy the shopping, talking and meeting people. The parts you want to sell do it here and at the local swap meets. Enjoy the time with him at something you both enjoy. Robert

To be a vendor at Hershey you must first be an AACA member. Join and watch the address card when it asks if you want spaces for the flea market at the Fall meet. You can get two if you want. I have a friend that is 91 and he still has a vendor space.
