Default block




I tore down a flathead and ran a tap throu the block headbolts. Did i ruin it. I did not know this was a no no. Can i correct it.

If that screws up a block then I've screwed up a lot of blocks. I always do it.

Running a tap through them probably wont hurt. The stock studs and holes have a stronger rolled thread, not a sharp edged thread from a tap & die.

I think you have a much better chance of getting a good seal with CLEAN holes and a good sealer. Frank
