Default 1952 ford customline dual exhaust question

im restoring a 1952 ford customline . and it will have the flathead back in it . and i know back in 52 the car had single exhaust which this one is all still in tact under the car . . and on the flattie the drivers side manifold crossed over in the front to the pass side and it dumped in the back . now heres my question can this be done i want dual exhaust on it by using the stock manifolds what can u do or have to interchange maybe diff year manifolds to get the car to have dual exhaust like both manifolds to dump in the back on each side , then again i see a maybe problem if the driver side manifold dumps in the back due to all the 3 speed rods and clutch fork and etc . i dont want to use headers . is there manifolds that will set this up on the car like one year and use another year criss crossing manifolds or etc ????

Check with Waldron's exhaust. They have a conversion kit for these cars. I purchased one for my 1953 ford flathead.

I installed a set of Red's Headers on our '53 Sunliner with Ford-O-Matic... only thing I had to modify was the transmission breather cover.

It's pretty easy to make an adapter to use the passenger side manifold on the drivers side.

so u can make adapter to use the passengers side car manifold where it dumps in the back . and can get it to work on the drivers side . thats what i was really wanting to do is use like 2 pass side car manifolds and block the front of them off with a plate and use them where they both hook up in the back then take it to a muffler shop for exhaust let him come from back of manifolds to the back of the car

The best setup is the reproduction driver's side dual exhaust manifold. It is designed to clear the steering box, clutch linkage, etc.

I used Red's headers and Smithy mufflers to convert to dual exhaust - think it relieved some of the back pressure caused by single exhaust with a cross-over.

That looks like a nice original car. Wish I could see a picture of the complete car.

It is a car that was for sale a while back. I don't remember which website it was on. The car looked original enough that I saved all the pictures (note that it still has the original one piece floor mat that goes from the firewall to the front of the rear seat!). Here you go:

Wow, that is a super looking car. My dad bought a new "leftover" '53 Mainline ForDor I-6 in ‘54; it was the same blue with an ivory top (its only option), he traded in a '49 Merc Convertible... I was five years old and very upset that he did that...
