Default Replaters?

Does anybody know someone that can do nickel, cadmium, and/or zinc replating? I have a few dipsticks that need to be replated among some other things. Of course, some of them were plain steel so I technically don't need to get them replated. But I am just exploring my options.

Great question / topic.. not just for Nickel / Cad plating, but for Butler Finish chrome, copper (oil can, for example). There are surely replaters that are familiar with the plating needs of our hobby, familiar with the finishes of our hobby, and can do the small lot piece/parts.

Craig Riker in OH has done a lot of work for us and the quality is top notch. He has been restoring and plating parts for Model A's for over 25 years, so he generally knows his stuff.

I am recommending Custom Plating Specialists. The owner, Terry Meetz, was a good friend of Hans (Doc) Kalinka, a recent inductee to the MAFFI Hall of Fame for being an authority on the Model A.

I have personally seen their work, and it is absolutely beautiful. They know about Butler finishes, etc., and are familiar with the Model A. Be sure to specify exactly what you want. Mr. Meetz is very personable, and their costs are very reasonable.

Check out the 'Testimonial' page on their website !!

google 'Custom Plating Specialist, Brillion, Wis' to find their website.

I've used Custom Chrome Plating in Grafton OH. Excellent work.

Craig is EXCELLENT. Not only does he do great work but will suggest other approaches depending what you are doing and want to accomplish. Met him at Hersey a few years ago. He also cooks a mean hot dog! You WILL NOT go wrong with him!

You could try Ron Monte
(973)-226-6184
(North-Eastern New Jersey)
He's a great guy, and though told me recently that he is semi-retired, he will still do small parts.
He provided a beautiful wiper motor for my Cabriolet...
He said he will still be able to do most types of plating, but not cadmium which has restrictions.
Call, leave a message and he'll get back to you...
Worked for me...

At the top of the Model A Forum page there is a "sticky" thread that has contact information for suppliers of parts and services. Here is the information that is shown:

[email protected] Craig Riker 419-290-4442 (Ohio)

You will have better luck calling him rather than email. I don't think he checks is email on a regular basis.
